  • 2–2½ lbs beef chuck steaks, about 1 inch thick
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
  • 1 packet (about 1 oz) dry onion soup mix
  • 1 cup beef broth, preferably low-sodium

 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions

Layer the steaks
Place raw chuck steaks in the bottom of a 5–6 quart slow cooker. No need to brown.

Make the gravy
Whisk mushroom soup, onion soup mix, and broth until smooth.
