Lemon Crumb Bars
These classic lemon bars are a delightful treat with a buttery crumbly crust and tangy lemon filling. Perfect for any occasion!
Ingredients
Crust
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Filling
- 2 large eggs
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Make the crust: In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually add to butter mixture. Set aside 1 cup of crumb mixture for topping. Press remaining crumbs into prepared baking dish.
- Make the filling: In a bowl, beat eggs until thick. Stir in condensed milk, lemon juice, and zest.
- Pour filling over crust. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and set. Cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar, if desired. Cut into bars.
