“My new favorite loaf to make! So good with some butter for breakfast.”

This Applesauce Honey Bread is a wonderfully moist and flavorful quick bread made with simple pantry ingredients. Unsweetened applesauce, honey, butter, and warm spices like cinnamon and ginger combine to create a soft, tender loaf with a delicious homemade flavor. As it bakes, the natural sweetness of the applesauce and honey creates a beautifully golden crust while keeping the inside moist and soft. Perfect for breakfast, a snack, or dessert, this easy bread comes together with minimal effort.

Applesauce Honey Bread – Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup honey
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 1/2 cups unsweetened applesauce

Directions

Step 1: Prepare the Pan and Oven
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a standard 9×5-inch loaf pan or two smaller loaf pans with butter or nonstick cooking spray.

Step 2: Combine the Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and ginger until evenly combined.

Step 3: Prepare the Wet Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter, sugar, and honey until smooth and creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the applesauce until fully combined.

Step 4: Make the Batter
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined. Avoid overmixing, as this can result in a dense loaf.

Step 5: Bake the Bread
Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes.

Step 6: Prevent Over-Browning
If the top begins to brown too quickly, loosely cover the loaf with aluminum foil during the last 15 to 20 minutes of baking.

Step 7: Cool and Serve
Test for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of the loaf. If it comes out clean or with a few dry crumbs, the bread is ready. Allow the loaf to cool completely in the pan or on a wire rack before slicing.
