Inspired by traditional pull-apart breads from around the world, this version adds a seasonal touch with tender apples and warm spices. Perfect for crisp fall mornings, relaxed weekend brunches, or a sweet afternoon snack, the combination of pillowy dough, buttery cinnamon sugar, and juicy apple pieces makes every bite irresistible. Apple Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted (plus ¼ cup for filling)
  • ⅓ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and finely chopped

Filling:

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Make the dough:
In a large bowl, mix 2 cups flour with sugar, yeast, and salt. Warm butter, milk, and water to about 110°F in a small saucepan. Combine with the flour mixture, then stir in eggs and vanilla. Gradually add remaining flour until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  2. First rise:
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled, about 1 hour.
  3. Prepare the filling:
Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a glass baking dish.
  4. Shape the bread:
Punch down dough and roll into a large rectangle. Brush with melted butter, sprinkle cinnamon sugar and chopped apples on top. Cut into strips, stack, then slice into smaller sections. Arrange in the baking dish, cover, and let rise 30 minutes.
  5. Bake:
Bake 30–35 minutes until golden and fragrant. Meanwhile, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze.
  6. Finish and serve:
Drizzle glaze over warm bread. Serve fresh and enjoy every gooey, spiced bite.
